ITSA takes concrete actions to connect Afghan artisans and small farmers who are unable to access international markets independently. Its goal is to sustainably increase their incomes and improve the quality of life of their communities, helping their micro-businesses to expand. The main farmers' products are dried fruit & nuts. ITSA's staff in Afghanistan carefully select the best figs, apricots, raisins, almonds and pine nuts. The artisan products will mainly be hand-woven carpets, leather goods such as bags, clothing accessories such as scarves and traditional Afghan clothing (especially women's clothes), which are attracting some interest in several countries involved in the project. A significant part of profits from the project will be reinvested in increasing the production capacity of small Afghan farmers: equipment and machinery for drying and packaging fruit (and vegetables) will be bought and given to rural Afghan communities. This will improve exports to neighbouring countries.

Are you a manufacturer or seller of packaging machines for fruit and vegetables and would like to enter the Afghan market?

Did you know that Afghanistan is a fertile country that produces more than 1.5 million tons of fresh fruit per year, of which about 500,000 tons are exported to neighboring countries, but due to inadequate packaging, a significant portion of the fruit rots during transportation?

Supporting the ISTA Project would be like killing two birds with one stone for you!
